Do you check your Linkedin/ Facebook/ Twitter/ Instagram every 5 minutes?
If so, you’re having “social media anxiety disorder”.
According to ADAA (Anxiety and Depression Association of America), some of the most common symptoms of this alarming mental health disorder are:
🆘 Interrupting conversations to check your social media (SoMe) accounts
🆘 Withdrawal from friends and family
🆘 Loss of interest in other activities
🆘 Overwhelming need to share things with others on SoMe sites
🆘 Having your phone with you 24/7 to check notifications
🆘 Severe nervousness or anxiety when you are not able to access your accounts
🆘 Negative impacts in your personal or professional life due to heavy SoMe usage
It’s no secret that SoMe has opened us a whole new digital world and dramatically changed the way we humans communicate and socialize with each other.
But with great power comes great responsibility. We’ve reached a point where SoMe is so deeply integrated into our daily life that at times it can feel completely overwhelming, or even worse, turn the lives of some people upside down.
How often do you check your SoMe accounts?
